Welcome to my story.
My name is Malcolm and I am a Canadian Nomad currently travelling the world.
My official first step into Nomad lifestyle was when I left Amsterdam on April 2nd, 2017 with only a backpack and plane ticket to Krakow, Poland.
Before departing, my life was centred around health and fitness. It was both work and passion, and I spent the majority of my time in that realm. I was very comfortable, and well into the routine of chasing the North American dream (in Amsterdam). Grateful for the incredible opportunities given to me, I was focused on doing what I thought I was supposed to do.
I was anxious, because I couldn’t stop asking myself, “is this it?”.
Eventually, I decided it was time to leave the guaranteed path, and step into the unknown.
To see if this is it, or if there is something else, somewhere else, for me.
My goal is to explore new places, meet interesting people, and contemplate some of life’s mainstream concepts along the way.
I started project “Year 26” on my 26th birthday (April 6th) to document the evolution of those goals. Year 26 is a daily blog on this website where I share the journey throughout the year.
After the year concludes, I will have to decide if I enter back into the system, or live a newly learned way of life.
This is where the story picks up.
