Day 20 of Year 26
Tomorrow I am going to get a sim card.
While I really enjoyed living the wifi life, it has become a bit of an unnecessary inconvenience. Getting messages late, being unavailable for hours at a time, not being able to crush the ‘gram between sets – it is too much.
Also, I plan on adventuring into Krakow, outside of Old Town, and I want access to live maps. I think that reason alone is enough to grab a sim card.
I have been told by my friends that sim cards are really inexpensive here. Something like 25 euros a month for 10gs of data. I will find out tomorrow – but that would be a steal if it is accurate.
One positive thing about not having access to data is that I was on my phone much less. No service – no point in whipping out the iPhone. That is something I think a lot of people can benefit from. As simple as it is, it went from my pocket to backpack during the day. More present with people, less app refreshes, less stress. I liked that.
I am going to try and keep my usage down and my phone away when I get my data game back.
Or, I revert right back to holding my iPhone every waking moment of the day. You just never know.
Hopefully my phone is unlocked? People talk about unlocking phones and all that, but I do not know what mine would be categorized as.
Will find out soon enough.
