Day 7 of Year 26
Today we had a team meeting at the hostel. The reason we had a meeting is because the hostel is about to enter what’s called peak season. Peak season is when all the rooms are booked, and the parties are plentiful.
After the meeting, the gang adventured into the Jewish quarter.
The Jewish quarter is a very rustic looking neighbourhood. There are old guys selling ‘authentic’ old stuff. Watches, portraits, cameras, spoons – you know, the usual. There are shops set up selling different types of foods – Some more touristy than others. The buildings are very worn. It is interesting that they do not repair them. (Insert: Kate a girl who went on a tour there told me that they kept the remains as much as they could from the old quarter because the Jewish population when from 70,000 to 600 people after the holocaust!… crazy dude… this is late writing.. hi )
But we did not go to the Jewish Quarter for the watches.
The reason we were in the Jewish Quarter is because it is also a great place to drink. We like to drink. It was for a birthday, so we had to 😉
Random day drinks and shots for a couple hours. That was the prescription.
Shots and drinks can get as low as a euro at some places. The nightclubs are more expensive, but still – Eastern Europe.
With prices like that, things can escalate quickly. A round of shots for 12 people did not even run more than 25 euros, including tip.
I think maybe one or two people may or may not have made it out alive.
Mad Dog shots are no joke.
